  • 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced any color
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup beef or vegetable broth

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef or turkey in a skillet over medium heat for 5-7 minutes until fully cooked; drain excess fat.
  2. In the slow cooker, combine the browned meat with kidney beans, black beans, crushed tomatoes, diced onion, minced garlic, diced bell pepper, chili powder, cumin, salt, black pepper, and broth. Stir well.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 6 hours or high for 3 hours.
