  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp grated fresh ginger
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • Bell peppers, sliced (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil to create the marinade. Add beef strips and marinate for 10-15 minutes.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté sliced onions until soft and caramelized; season with salt and pepper.
  3. Increase heat to high and add marinated beef to the skillet. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned.
  4. Mix soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, and cornstarch in a bowl. Pour over the beef and simmer until sauce thickens.
  5. Return sautéed onions to the skillet, combine well, and serve hot over steamed rice or noodles.
