- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 ½ cups sour cream
- 1 small yellow onion (diced)
- 2 large yellow onions (thinly sliced)
- ¼ cup unsalted butter (melted)
- ½ cup chicken broth
- Salt
- Black pepper
- Cayenne pepper
- All-purpose flour
- ½ cup whole milk
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F. Spray a 9×13-inch baking dish with nonstick spray.
- In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter and sauté diced onion and minced garlic until translucent.
- In a large bowl, mix thawed hash browns, sautéed onions, cheddar cheese, sour cream, flour, salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, chicken broth, and milk until well combined.
