  • 2 tablespoons instant espresso powder
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons heavy whipping cream (for frosting)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (for frosting)
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt (for frosting)
  • 1 3/4 cup powdered sugar (for frosting)
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips (for topping)
  • 2 tablespoons heavy whipping cream (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8 inch pan with foil, spraying it with nonstick spray.
  2. In a bowl, whisk melted butter and cocoa powder until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, beat sugar, eggs, espresso powder, and vanilla until fluffy.
  4. Combine dry ingredients (salt, baking powder, flour) and mix into wet ingredients until just blended.
  5. Spread batter in prepared pan and bake for 25-28 minutes; cool completely.
  6. For frosting, mix cream and espresso powder until dissolved; beat with softened butter and powdered sugar until fluffy.
  7. Frost cooled brownies evenly; melt chocolate chips with cream for topping and drizzle over the frosting.
  8. Allow to set before cutting into squares.
