- 1–1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1–1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 large apple, peeled and chopped
- 3/4 cups confectioners’ sugar
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar (packed)
- 1–1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons water
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8.5 x 4.5 inch loaf pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, cream the butter and granulated sugar until smooth. Add vanilla extract and eggs one at a time until well mixed.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients and milk until just combined.
- In another bowl, combine chopped apples with brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Layer half of the batter into the loaf pan, add half of the apple mixture, then repeat with remaining batter and apples. Swirl gently.
- Bake for 45 to 55 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow cooling before drizzling with a glaze made from confectioners’ sugar, water, and cinnamon.
