  • 1/3 cup apple cider
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon apple pie spice
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 T melted butter (for topping)
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar (for topping)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Melt butter in a small saucepan over low heat; stir in apple cider and set aside.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and apple pie spice.
  4. In another bowl, combine granulated sugar and egg with the cider mixture until smooth.
  5. Fold wet and dry ingredients together until just combined.
  6. Lightly grease a donut pan and fill each cavity with batter.
  7. Bake for about 7 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. For the topping, melt additional butter and mix cinnamon with sugars in another bowl.
  9. Dip warm donuts into melted butter then coat in the sugar mixture.
